Trade Consultant - Manager - NEW role!

Our client are a global consultancy, expanding their team. They're recruiting a manager-grade Trade Consultant. This is a newly-created role.

You'll provide advice on customs, trade, and indirect tax matters to both local and international clients. There is also a clear path to senior management roles based on your performance.

Key Responsibilities

• - Negotiate project details, including scope and fees, with clients.
• - Manage project progress and billing.
• - Advise on customs valuation / amendment procedure for imported goods.
• - Guide clients on tariff classification and tax exemption schemes.
• - Consult on the use of origin regulations, including Free Trade Agreement (FTA) benefits.
• - Develop internal systems for Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) and bonded customs procedures.
• - Support clients during post-clearance audits by customs authorities.
• - Liaise with government bodies as necessary.
• - Support the adoption and integration of new technologies.
• - Optimize international logistics.

Qualifications:

• - 8+ years of relevant experience (eg. customs brokerage, freight forwarding, etc) or experience as a customs officer.
• - Licensed Customs Specialist (preferred).
• - Must be fluent in Japanese.
• - Experience with NACCS or similar customs systems.
