Chief Information Officer
Location: Tokyo
Role Overview: The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will lead the organization's Information Technology team to deliver strategic business value through the execution of digital transformation initiatives. The CIO will drive IT strategy, build stable systems, and optimize technology investments to ensure optimal total cost of ownership. This role requires strong leadership in implementing engineering best practices, adopting DevOps tools, and leveraging Agile methodologies to enhance systems delivery. As a key leader, the CIO will be responsible for overseeing vendor management, change management, and stakeholder engagement to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy that aligns with the organization's business goals, enabling digital transformation and sustainable growth.
- Lead the Systems Engineering Group to deliver stable and scalable IT solutions, ensuring optimal total cost of ownership while supporting the organization's digital transformation journey.
- Drive the adoption of new technologies, including AI and cloud computing, to enhance business capabilities and improve operational efficiency.
- Strengthen engineering practices by incorporating Agile methodologies and DevOps tools to improve developer productivity and speed up project delivery.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure that IT services meet business needs. Engage with key stakeholders to align IT initiatives with organizational objectives.
- Oversee the IT project portfolio, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic goals.
- Lead change initiatives within the IT function, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability.
- Guide the development of robust IT architecture, ensuring integration across systems and alignment with business requirements.
- Leverage industry knowledge to tailor IT strategies to meet specific regulatory and operational needs within the insurance sector.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in IT leadership roles, with a focus on digital transformation, IT strategy, and systems engineering.
- Proven expertise in Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and project management.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud computing, AI, API development, and solution architecture.
- Strong skills in vendor management, change management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in the insurance industry is preferred.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across the organization.
