Our client, a major retail company, are seeking an Accounting Manager based in Tokyo. The successful candidate will oversee financial activities and improvement of operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the monthly financial closing activities, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet account reconciliation.
• Spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, from ERP system upgrades to automating routine tasks.
• Collaborate closely with the controller in fulfilling annual financial audits, tax documentation, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Act as the key liaison between group companies and the parent corporation for consolidations and best practice implementations.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years in finance, focused on controllership.
• Knowledge of International Accounting Standards.
• Experience with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle.
• Past work with financial audits and tax compliance.
• Business-level Japanese and intermediate English required.
