Credit Risk Officer AVP
A top company in financial services is looking for a Credit Risk Officer at the Assistant Vice President level for their Tokyo office. The role focuses on managing credit risk for a diverse portfolio, including corporate, financial institutions, real estate, and leveraged lending. Ideal candidates will have strong experience in credit risk management and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- - Manage a portfolio of 40-50 credit groups, including corporate and financial institutions.
- - Review credit proposals, write credit reports, and recommend transaction approvals.
- - Monitor markets and conduct due diligence through calls and site visits.
- - Help develop and maintain risk management frameworks and policies.
- - Support internal and external audits with necessary documentation.
- - Lead and support business transactions to ensure they align with risk appetite.
- - Mentor junior team members and new hires.
Qualifications
- - At least 5 years of experience in credit risk, especially in investment banking.
- - Skilled in structuring complex financial transactions and handling distressed debt.
- - Strong documentation skills and knowledge of risk mitigation strategies.
- - Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English.
- - Bachelor's degree with formal credit training; CFA certification is a plus.
