Chief Financial Officer (Luxury Retail)

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer for a leading company in the luxury retail industry in Tokyo. This key role involves leading a major transformation in the finance department and reporting directly to the General Manager. The right candidate will have a strong background in financial leadership and handling complex financial tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the finance department through a major transformation.
- Support the implementation of the SAP system.
- Manage gross margin and close financials monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the general ledger.
- Handle tax returns.
- Supervise asset management using PCA depreciation software.
- Provide management and analysis reports to headquarters and other departments.
- Plan and manage cash operations and review cash forecasts.
- Direct budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Manage credit, including debt collection and accounts receivable.
- Ensure financial and legal documents comply with regulations.
- Implement procedures for strong internal controls.
- Lead initiatives for process improvements in financial systems, including ERP.
- Coordinate external audits as the main contact for auditors.
- Develop and mentor teams to improve performance and collaboration.

Requirements:

- Strong interpersonal skills for building trustful relationships.
- Proven leadership skills with a flexible, operational approach.
- At least 10 years in financial management, with expertise in accounting, financial planning, and tax planning.
- Experience managing finance teams with at least three staff members for 3-5 years.
- Familiarity with IFRS or US GAAP is a plus.
- Understanding of retail business accounting, including cash and credit card management and fixed assets management.
- Business-level English and fluent to native-level Japanese.

要件:

- 信頼関係を構築するための強力な対人スキル。

- 財務管理で10年以上の経験があり、会計、財務計画、および税務計画に精通している。
- 少なくとも3〜5年間、3人以上のスタッフを持つ財務チームを管理した経験。
- IFRSまたは米国GAAPの知識があれば尚良し。
- 現金およびクレジットカード管理、固定資産管理を含む小売業の会計の理解。
