Agile Project Manager - Global Insurance Company
Location: Tokyo (Hybrid)
Role Summary: This role involves managing various technology projects, including applications and infrastructure, while working closely with local business units and regional teams to deliver timely solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple complex projects from start to finish, ensuring successful outcomes.
- Define project goals, deliverables, and key milestones. Develop detailed project plans including budget, resources, risks, and timelines.
- Allocate resources effectively and adjust plans as needed based on changes.
- Guide cross-functional teams to execute tasks, focusing on quality, communication, and proactive risk management.
- Act as a Scrum Master in an Agile setting, facilitating daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and resolving issues.
- Apply ITIL best practices to manage IT infrastructure projects and service delivery, with emphasis on incident and change management.
- Track project progress using key metrics, provide regular updates, escalate issues when needed, and implement corrective actions.
- Lead project meetings, including status updates, risk reviews, and stakeholder briefings, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure projects align with organizational goals by working with stakeholders to refine objectives and track benefits.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of project management principles, Agile methodologies, and the system development lifecycle.
- Experience with Scrum or Kanban practices, and familiarity with ITIL for IT service management.
- Skilled in coaching teams, facilitating Agile ceremonies, and maintaining engagement.
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience managing projects in a matrixed organization and coordinating across departments.
- Bilingual in Japanese and English, with effective cross-cultural communication.
- Background in insurance or financial services, with an understanding of relevant regulations and technology.
