We are looking for an experienced Accounting and Treasury Director for a well-known client in the sports retail sector. This role, located in Tokyo, involves overseeing corporate accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. The candidate will lead the accounting team, improve financial systems, and ensure compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities:

• - Oversee all accounting tasks, including billing, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, cost and inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
• - Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
• - Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and manage fixed asset and debt activities.
• - Supervise audit processes and ensure adherence to accounting principles and policies.
• - Implement and oversee financial reporting systems in line with government regulations and tax requirements.
• - Improve organizational processes and systems for better efficiency and effectiveness.
• - Lead and motivate the accounting team, creating a collaborative environment to achieve goals.
• - Engage in strategic problem-solving and project management to enhance team performance.

Qualifications:

• - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• - At least 2 years in a leadership role within a Western multinational company, with experience in financial statement preparation, general ledger functions, and tax filing.
• - Proficiency in US GAAP with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• - Proven integrity, reliability, and leadership abilities.
• - At least 3 years of experience managing teams and projects.
• - Business-level proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• - Proficiency in MS Office and financial management software such as SAP and Oracle.
• - Experience in finance/accounting within FMCG, brand, sporting goods, or golf industries.
• - US CPA certification and experience with Oracle EBS, COSO, ICFR, or SOX an added advantage.
