Project Management Office (PMO) - SaaS Company, Tokyo

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a highly organized and experienced PMO professional to join their dynamic SaaS company. This role is responsible for establishing and optimizing project management frameworks and governance models that support Project Managers across multiple functions. The successful candidate will bring a strong background in project methodology, stakeholder communication, and continuous improvement, ensuring efficient project delivery aligned with strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement PMO standards, templates, and best practices to ensure consistency across projects.

• Monitor project health and KPIs, providing oversight and proactive risk management.

• Support Project Managers with planning, tracking, resource allocation, and issue escalation frameworks.

• Act as a key liaison between project teams, business stakeholders, and senior leadership.

• Provide training and guidance to improve project management maturity across the organization.

• Develop governance models, reporting structures, and tools to ensure transparency and accountability.

• Coordinate portfolio-level reporting and ensure alignment with company priorities.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for project lifecycle processes and tools.

Requirements

• PMP certification is required.

• Fluency in Japanese (N1/native level) and business English communication skills.

• 5+ years of experience in a PMO role, ideally within a SaaS or IT environment.

• Deep understanding of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid).

• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Smartsheet, MS Project, Confluence).

• Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a fast-paced, cross-cultural, SaaS environment.

• Familiarity with OKRs, portfolio prioritization, and change management processes.

• Additional certifications (e.g., Agile, SAFe) a plus.
