Position Summary
As a strategic partner, you will be responsible for consumer and shopper research, managing data and information to support the marketing and management teams in making well-informed decisions from a consumer perspective. Your role includes planning, developing, executing, and evaluating insights-driven strategies.
You will also stay up to date on new research methods and data sources in response to evolving consumer behavior and the technological environment, while improving data quality through the adoption of modern methods and processes.
Main Responsibilities
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and manage appropriate research projects for the category or brand for which you are responsible, within the agreed budget, for the medium to long term.
- Plan, conduct, analyze, and report on research that directly addresses marketing challenges and provides clear solutions.
- Act as a strategic partner, proactively supporting the marketing and management teams with data and insights from a consumer perspective.

- Provide marketing teams with appropriate research solutions that address their challenges and objectives.
- Enable the team to make decisions with a higher probability of success.

- Lead efforts to enhance research capabilities by improving and developing research methods and processes to support sound decision-making in a fast-changing business environment.
- Manage research agencies to maximize cost-effectiveness and agility without compromising service quality.

- Achieve cost-effectiveness and agility in research projects.

About You
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced knowledge of marketing research and market data.
- Basic understanding of business and marketing concepts.
- Strong business skills, including critical/logical thinking, problem-solving, flexibility, multitasking, and project management.
- Advanced marketing research skills, including planning, analysis, and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Japanese.
Education and Experience Required
- Experience as a researcher or analyst in a marketing research or brand agency, or within a manufacturer, ideally in a global company.
- Research or analysis experience in the FMCG industry.
